Life is not so rotten as it seems

Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren was 63 years old, while Sarah Schwardt was 12. But the 50-year age difference did not hinder their friendship and candid correspondence about life. In the illustrations, I wanted to show how important it is for a teenager to be understood and heard, and how important it is for adults to be honest with them.
"I'm sorry for this long, boring, dull, and sloppy letter.
From Sarah, thirteen years old
Ugly
Stupid
Dumb
Lazy."

Oh Sarah, my Sarah. Like you, I thought life was miserable.

But at thirteen, everyone considers themselves ugly, and at that age I was convinced: I was the ugliest and no one would ever fall in love with me, but gradually I realized that it wasn't so bad.
You know, once I found this piece of paper. I was about the same age as you
when I wrote it. It's good that you can feel and care about others, and indulge
in sad thoughts, that's why I consider you a kindred spirit.
The most difficult times in a person's life are early youth and old age.
It's quite hard to be happy considering the world as it is.
And the fact that I'm no longer young is a comfort to me.
Oh, how invigorating it is.
